TOM CRUISE - CRUISE MAKES LIONS FOR LAMBS FIRST UNITED ARTISTS SIGNING

LATEST: TOM CRUISE has made LIONS FOR LAMBS his first movie for new studio United Artists and will star as a US Senator in the multi-layered drama. Paramount Pictures boss SUMNER REDSTONE sensationally axed the studio's deal with Cruise star earlier this year (06), blaming his famous couch-jumping appearance on OPRAH WINFREY's TV show for embarrassing the studio and hampering the box office performance of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III. But Cruise has moved on prior to his impending wedding to fiancee KATIE HOLMES and is set to co-star alongside ROBERT REDFORD and MERYL STREEP in the blockbuster movie. Streep tells the Hollywood Reporter, "I'm the investigative reporter on (Cruise's) a**."
