WES CRAVEN - CRAVEN TO RETURN TO HORROR WITH 25/8

Filmmaker WES CRAVEN is to make a return to the horror genre with new project 25/8 - the first scary film he has written since 1994's WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE. The Scream director has signed on to write and direct the new movie, about a serial killer who turns up 15 years after his purported death to kill the seven children born on that evening. Craven tells industry publication Variety, "It's more a thriller than slasher film, and revolves around a young kid with a very dark past involving his family and his father." And Craven has also given his blessing to the forthcoming remake of his Nightmare on Elm Street series, which is being planned by New Line movie studio. He adds, "My baby has fallen into the hands of others, and what can I say but wish them luck."
