SIMON COWELL - COWELL LAMBASTED BY CONTESTANT'S RELATIVE

Music mogul SIMON COWELL was left red-faced during auditions for British talent show X FACTOR, when an 86-year-old woman branded him "ignorant" and "ugly". Great grandmother EDNA MOORE accompanied her daughter-in-law to auditions in Manchester, England, this week (begs14AUG06) and was horrified when the acid-tongued judge sniggered at LORRAINE's efforts. He told the wannabe pop star she was "lifeless" and "lacking in personality", but Edna hit back, saying, "You're ignorant. (You're not) good-looking and you haven't even got your own teeth. "You think you're better than anybody. I think you were very ignorant. Yes - you were ignorant, Simon." Cowell hurriedly apologised to Edna and rushed backstage, British newspaper the Daily Mirror reports.
