JENNIFER CONNELLY - CONNELLY'S APE ENCOUNTER

Oscar winner JENNIFER CONNELLY didn't realise she'd come so close to a baboon during a recent safari trip to South Africa - one ended up in her hotel room.
The actress and her family were holidaying in the Kruger National Park during a break in filming her latest movie BLOOD DIAMOND when she ignored warnings to keep her apartment doors closed and suffered the consequences.
She recalls, "There was a balcony and a glass sliding door, which when we checked in they made sure to tell us, about five times, that we should keep closed.
"We went for, literally, about half an hour to the swimming pool with the kids and I came back to get some stuff... and looked through the plate-glass window and found a five-foot tall baboon on the bed, eating a chocolate bar... and his buddy was bouncing up and down on the couch, another guy is like swinging from the curtains.
"I ran screaming, which they said is the thing not to do."
Connelly immediately tracked down the local park rangers, who attempted to coax the drunken apes out of the room. She adds, "They (baboons) had completely drained the minibar... They had trashed the room entirely, so, as it turns out, baboons are kind of like at the same evolutionary stage as a lot of the actors I've worked with."
