HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star MONIQUE COLEMAN harbours dreams of playing late TLC rapper LISA 'LEFT EYE' LOPES in a biopic of the tragic star's life.
The singer/actress, who plays Vanessa Hudgens' brainy best pal in the teen franchise, is a huge fan of Lopes and hopes to bring her eventful life to the big-screen.
Lopes died from severe head injuries in 2002 following a horrific car crash in La Ceiba, Honduras. She was 30.
And Coleman wants to pay homage to the star - and is adamant she can portray the same raw talent that catapulted Lopes to stardom.
She says, "I have aspirations to do the TLC story. I've been doing a little research into them and I can see a little Left-Eye in here."
Lopes shot to fame as part of R+B trio TLC, selling 22 million albums worldwide, making them one of America's most successful girl groups of all time.

I think it's great that someone would want to personally play Left Eye in her bio. When Jamie Foxx did Ray, I feel like he really did justice in telling the story of the celebrated artist's life. If Monique Coleman lands this role, AND does a great job, I think it might be a big break for her career. Anyways, speaking of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes, her NEW CD is coming out in a few months on Jan. 27! The anticipation has been building for quite some time and I myself am very excited. I'm not sure what to expect, but the A-list features on the album are enough to do it for me. If you get a chance, check out the new buzz tracks from our friends at Mass Appeal Entertainment--Legendary feat. Tupac and Tampered feat. Wanye Morris [remember Boyz II Men?] I can't post the links here for certain reasons but I assure you they are worth searching for ;)
