PULP - COCKER'S LYRICAL LECTURE

Former PULP frontman JARVIS COCKER has turned lecturer to teach wannabe songwriters the art of penning lyrics.
The singer was hired as the keynote speaker at Manchester, England's In The City music conference on Tuesday (07Oct08) and discussed the history of songwriting.
Cocker covered the famous lyrics of his own band, as well as those of The Beatles, Leonard Cohen and David Bowie.
And, while strumming his own hits on the guitar, he acknowledged late Factory Records boss Tony Wilson as the inspiration behind the lecture.
He told the audience, "The reason I'm here is because originally the idea of this was planted in my head by Tony Wilson."
Cocker performed the same lecture at a festival in Brighton, England earlier this year (08).
