10 - CLOVERFIELD SCARES AWAY GLOBAL BOX OFFICE COMPETITORS
Monster movie CLOVERFIELD is the world's number one film for a second successive week. The horror thriller, about five New Yorkers attempting to escape from a giant lizard, proved to be the most popular film outside the U.S. over the weekend (08-10Feb08) with takings of $14.3 million (GBP7.15 million). Nicolas Cage sequel National Treasure: Book Of Secrets is at two with $10.1 million (GBP5.05 million), while rounding out the top three is I Am Legend with $9 million (GBP4.5 million).
