GEORGE CLOONEY - CLOONEY TURNED DOWN DAD'S ROSEANNE ADVICE
A little paternal advice almost cost GEORGE CLOONEY his big screen career - when dad tried to persuade his son not to quit 1980s sitcom ROSEANNE. Former journalist Nick Clooney told his actor son to sign a contract extension for the show, but the Oscar winner chose to ignore his father's career advice. In an impressive Time magazine expose on Clooney, his father says, "He was offered a stupendous amount of money to continue to do Roseanne. "I was thinking he could build a little nest egg and maybe acting would pay off after all. He said, 'No, I'll be in a cul-de-sac. I'll be that guy, and that's all I'll be.'"
