GEORGE CLOONEY - CLOONEY TO FOCUS ON DIRECTING

Hollywood hunk GEORGE CLOONEY is eyeing an early retirement from acting - because he wants to devote himself to directing.
Clooney, 46, made his directorial debut with 2002's Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, and his subsequent film Good Night, And Good Luck earned him a Best Director nomination at the 2006 Academy Awards.
And, despite the commercial success of his acting career, the former ER star insists he is desperate to eventually become a fully-fledged filmmaker.
He says, "There's a relatively short window that you're allowed to be in the public eye before people just get sick of you. So you wanna have a fall-back position. Retirement.
"And directing is infinitely more fun than acting because you're in control of all the stuff! You get to decide. It's a dictatorship and you're the dictator."
