CLIFF RICHARD - CLIFF RICHARD'S DESPAIR OVER NOTTING HILL ROLE
Actor/singer SIR CLIFF RICHARD has one movie regret - he wishes he had played the lead in HUGH GRANT comedy NOTTING HILL.
The veteran crooner, 66, would love to have starred in the 1999 romantic comedy, but had to settle for covering the film's hit song When You Say Nothing At All instead.
He says, "Ever since I saw Notting Hill, this song got under my skin.
"How I'd have loved to have played the Hugh Grant role. That was never going to happen - so I've sung the song instead."
The song in the movie was sung by Ronan Keating, but it was originally performed by Keith Whitley in 1988.
