The mother of Welsh pop star CHARLOTTE CHURCH is returning to the U.K. to be with her pregnant daughter. Maria Church moved to the south of France with her husband James, Charlotte's stepfather, two months ago (May07), but now plans to return to Wales to be present at the birth of her first grandchild. Charlotte's baby with Welsh rugby ace Gavin Henson is due in late September (07), and Maria insists a long-distance family relationship was no longer appropriate. She says, "We are a very close family so James and I are moving back to Cardiff. Charlotte needs me to be around and I want to be there to help all I can. "I thought that phone calls would be enough. But they weren't. We want to be there when our first grandchild is born." The couple sparked rumours of a split earlier this month (Jul07) after Henson was alleged to have cheated on the star.
