HELENA CHRISTENSEN - CHRISTENSEN'S SON HELPS HER GRIEVE FOR LEDGER

Danish supermodel HELENA CHRISTENSEN is coping with the death of her former lover HEATH LEDGER with the help of her eight-year-old son. Christensen had stayed close to the Brokeback Mountain star following their brief fling last September (07), and she claims she was heading to his New York apartment when he died last month (22Jan08). But Christensen admits caring for her son Mingus is helping her deal with Ledger's sudden death. She tells People.com, "Time passes. It's doesn't make it easier, but you try to do the best you can. When you have a child, they kind of bring you back to the moment in a really comforting way. "Losing any friend is horrific, but he just had this thing about him - this special, enigmatic thing that I had never met in anyone before."
