COLDPLAY - CHRIS MARTIN DEFENDS JAY-Z

COLDPLAY's CHRIS MARTIN has spoken out in defence of the decision to choose JAY-Z as a Glastonbury headliner.
The singer told BBC Radio 1 that he could not understand why the rapper was causing such controversy.
JAY-Z's scheduled appearance on the Pyramid Stage on June 28th has attracted much criticism, with some people even blaming him for slow ticket sales.
However, Martin, who along with his wife GWYNETH PALTROW was a guest at JAY-Z's recent wedding to BEYONCE KNOWLES, has stated that he thinks the performance will be exactly what the festival needs.
"We recently came back to England to find all this all this hoo-hah, grandpas complaining about things they don't know about," he continued.
"Coldplay not playing and Jay-Z playing is exactly what needs to happen for the world. He's the best rapper in the world."
He even went so far as to call the rapper, whose hits include 99 PROBLEMS, "the best musician on the planet".
Chris's wife Gwyneth has also spoken out in defence of her musician pal, saying that he will "knock it out of the park".
Meanwhile, in related news, it has been announced that COLDPLAY will play a free gig in Barcelona in addition to the no-cost shows already planned for London and New York.
