TIMMY MALLETT - 'CHITTY' START TO JUNGLE LIFE FOR TIMMY MALLETT

Everyone knows I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! can be harsh on its contestants, but even hardened viewers could be forgiven for not expecting the welcome given to Timmy Mallett.

The former children's television host was arriving on the show and heading towards the jungle camp along with ex-Dollar star David Van Day when he got somewhat hung up.

Spotting a cake on the floor he went over to pick it up – and was swept up into the trees in a giant net.

After a bout of screaming and shouting not seen since his 1980s television antics with his infamous hammer Pinky Punky he calmed down and called out to the approaching Van Day: "You've got to help me. I feel like the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

"You look good," Van Day told him in response. "How did you get up there?"

Moments later he found out, with a second net sending him into the trees.

"I'll get you Mallett, you prat," he yelled, all smugness gone.

The pair were subsequently lowered into cages to be held at captive. Other celebrities will have to decide whether to pay a ransom to let them out.
