Pop superstar CHER is coming out of musical retirement - she's landed her own Las Vegas residency. The singer made the announcement during an interview aired on U.S. TV show Good Morning America on Thursday (07Feb08). Three years after she officially retired following her 2005 Farewell tour, Cher will take the stage at the Nevada resort's Caesar's Palace - a spot recently vacated by Celine Dion, and one she will share with Bette Midler, who is due to begin her stint at The Colosseum theatre later this month (Feb08). The 61-year-old revealed, "I'm opening in Las Vegas, at Caesar's Palace on May 6th." But she refused to divulge any details about the top secret show - only promising organisers would harness modern technology to make each performance a spectacular event. She adds, "I'm not telling you anything, but things (will be done) that haven't been done before, because we didn't have the technology." The Believe hitmaker is contracted to perform 200 shows over the next three years - but she insists the decision to make a return to music isn't motivated by money, even though she will earn her tens of millions of dollars for the shows. She says, "I know it's a lot of money - but I don't care."
