CHEADLE, SWINTON AND FREARS TO BE HONOURED BY BAFTA/LA
DON CHEADLE, TILDA SWINTON and film-maker STEPHEN FREARS will be honoured by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts/Los Angeles (BAFTA) at a ceremony in Hollywood in November (08).
Cheadle will receive the BAFTA/LA humanitarian award for the achievements of non-profit organisation Not on our Watch - which he founded with Ocean's Eleven co-stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.
Oscar-winner Swinton will be named British artist of the year; and Frears will be awarded the John Schlesinger Brittannia award for excellence in directing.
Sean Penn, as has already been announced, will be at the event to pick up the Stanley Kubrick Brittannia award for excellence in directing.
