Martial arts superstar JACKIE CHAN has hit out at the RUSH HOUR movie trilogy that has made him a household name in the West - insisting the action comedies are "too Americanised". Chan admits that the original 1998 film "disappointed" him and that he only returned for 2001's Rush Hour 2 because he was offered an "irresistible" amount of money. Writing on his website, Chan says, "When we finished filming (the first film), I felt very disappointed because it was a movie I didn't appreciate and I did not like the action scenes involved. "I felt the style of action was too Americanised and I didn't understand the American humour." And Chan claims he only made Rush Hour 3, which topped the U.S. box-office chart earlier this year (07), for fans of the franchise. He adds, "Nothing particularly exciting stood out that made this movie (Rush Hour 3) special for me... I spent four months making this film and I still don't fully understand the humour."
