RUSH HOUR - CHAN LAUNCHES POLICE RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE IN LOS ANGELES
RUSH HOUR star JACKIE CHAN has given Los Angeles police a boost after agreeing to star in a new recruitment campaign.
The martial arts hero donned police attire to join Los Angeles County Sheriff LEE BACA in Monterey Park, California to announce the new initiative, aimed at encouraging more Asian-Americans to enter the organisation.
Chan will star in a public service announcement for the sheriff's department.
The actor/singer was made an honorary sheriff's deputy during the low-key press conference and told Sheriff Baca he'd always dreamed of becoming a police officer as a child growing up, and he's always happy to promote police causes.
At the press conference he said, "I'm the police ambassador in Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, China, everywhere."
