The January (07) tribute to late TRAFFIC star JIM CAPALDI at London's Roundhouse was held to honour the rocker's last wish, according to his wife ANINHA. Capaldi pledged to play the famous London venue when it reopened just before he was diagnosed with cancer in 2004, but he died before he got the chance. So, when his wife let her late husband's friends know of his Roundhouse dream, they all rescheduled commitments to perform for Capaldi. The tribute concert has since been released as a CD and DVD. The rocker's wife says, "It was very touching when it came together. The night was full of love and it was beautiful. "I tried to follow what Jim's wishes were when he died... Jim had done a speech pledging that Traffic would play there when they were going on the road in October 2004, but then he got ill. "I kept in mind that he pledged to play in that venue. Somehow all his friends came to me - Pete Townshend was a close friend of Jim and he said, 'Anything I can do just let me know,' and the same with Bill Wyman. "Robert Plant was going to make it and Carlos Santana but unfortunately they were busy. The surprise was Joe Walsh and Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens); it was his first show in 28 years. "I asked him to play Man With No Country, which was a very special song because Jim wrote the song while we were living in Brazil."
