BRIDGET JONES DIARY - CALIGULA FINDS A FAN IN FIRTH

BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY star COLIN FIRTH is a big fan of infamous movie flop CALIGULA - because the film is historically accurate. Malcolm MCDowell - who starred in the controversial 1979 film - reveals Firth once tracked him down at an event and told him he thought the orgy-heavy Roman Empire movie was a big hit among historians like himself. MCDowell, who has never been a fan of the finished film, recalls, "Colin is familiar with Suetonius, the primary historian of that time. "At one point, Colin came up to me and said, 'Malcolm, I have to tell you, Caligula is one of the great historical movies about that period. You have no idea how accurate that film is.'"
