NICOLAS CAGE - CAGE'S GHOST RIDER STILL ON FIRE AT THE US BOX OFFICE

NICOLAS CAGE's turn as comic book biker GHOST RIDER has claimed the top spot at the US box office for a second successive week. The action film has taken it's 10-day box office tally to $78.7 million (GBP40.4 million) with a second weekend take of $19.7 million (GBP10.1 million). It was enough to fend off a challenge from JIM CARREY's new release THE NUMBER 23, which debuted at number two with $15.1 million (GBP7.7 million). Comedy RENO 911! debuted in fourth place, while BILLY BOB THORNTON's critically-mauled new film THE ASTRONAUT FARMER came in a distant ninth, with just $4.5 million (GBP2.3 million). Period movie AMAZING GRACE, starring Welsh actor IOAN GRUFFUDD as anti-slavery activist LORD WILLIAM WILBERFORCE, has debuted at 10 on limited release.
