GERARD BUTLER - BUTLER 'HELD BACK' BY GOOD LOOKS

Scottish actor GERARD BUTLER is convinced his acting career has been hindered by his good looks. The 300 star found success in Hollywood starring alongside Angelina Jolie in 2003's Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life and Hilary Swank in new movie P.S. I Love You, but remains less well known in his native Britain. And he insists being attractive disadvantaged him in the U.K. film industry. He says, "It holds you back in Britain more than the U.S. In Britain if you look like a cross between a pig and a packet of biscuits you're more likely to get a job. "But most of the f**ked up women I know are the beautiful ones. Often being good-looking causes you to think about being good-looking a little too much."
