BUSH - BUSH POSTPONES DRUG CAMPAIGN

U.S. President GEORGE W. BUSH has postponed a campaign against prescription drug abuse, following the death of actor HEATH LEDGER. Bush was scheduled to launch an ad campaign at the White House on Wednesday (23Jan08) to raise the awareness of abuse of prescription painkillers. But White House press secretary Dana Perina reveals the event has been rescheduled because it falls just a day after Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment after suffering a suspected drug overdose. Perino says, "We thought it would be better to postpone the event, rather than run the risk of anyone thinking that we were being opportunistic in highlighting the issue."
