DEAD OR ALIVE - BURNS SLAMS GAY MARRIAGE

DEAD OR ALIVE star PETE BURNS has split from his civil partner of nine months - and now insists gay marriage "doesn't work".
The singer, 49, married boyfriend Michael Simpson in a civil ceremony last July (07), but is now planning to file for a divorce after alleging his partner was unfaithful.
He says, "There's a lot of promiscuity in the gay community. I don't understand why they take that union. How low is their self esteem?
"I view marriage as a sacred institution. I think two men naturally are predators. Gay relationships are a commercial break, not a whole movie."
And Burns - who was married to stylist Lynne Corlett for 28 years - is adamant he was much happier married to a woman.
He says, "She (Corlett) was the best 'husband' I ever had. You sometimes meet a person who you completely love. We're still really, really close. It's not about sexuality, it's about the person."
But Burns insists he'll never remarry: "Would I get married again? If someone knocked me on the head with a nine-inch nail studded plank or drugged me with benzo-diazepine... No, no, no."
