BURNED-OUT M*A*S*H SET TO BE RECREATED
The set of military comedy M*A*S*H is to be recreated in the California wilderness. Props and equipment were destroyed in a 1982 brush fire at Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas, as cast and crew shot the series finale. A burned-out Army Jeep and rusty ambulance is all that remains of the set, which is still visited by fans of the show and hikers trekking the Crags Road trail. But now a partially-restored M*A*S*H location is being recreated by heritage groups and park rangers, using set blueprints provided by bosses at 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the hit show.
