BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER - BUFFY MIDNIGHT SCREENINGS SCRAPPED

A plan to turn BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER's cult musical episode into the next ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW cinema sensation has been scuppered by studio executives at Fox. Loyal fans of the TV show, which ended in 2004, have created a series of midnight sing-along events, where they'll air the episode, Once More With Feeling, in which the cast famously sang their lines. Encouraging fans to dress up in Buffy character attire, the 'Buffy Picture Show' was to debut in St Louis, Missouri on Friday (19Oct07) - but studio bosses who own the rights to the show have axed the plans. Lawyers for Twentieth Century Fox Television explain they didn't give fans the OK to air the shows for the public. As a result, all future engagements have been cancelled.
