SUGABABES - BUENA: 'NAME-CALLING ALMOST WRECKED MY CAREER'

Former SUGABABES star MUTYA BUENA has credited motherhood for giving her the confidence to face the press and paparazzi head on. The British singer was so hurt by negative comments about her body and physical appearance early on in her career she almost became a recluse. She says, "I wanted to stay outside the public eye because I was really hurt by what people said about me - that I was too fat or ugly." But Buena insists since giving birth to daughter Tahlia-Maya in 2005, she doesn't care what is written about her, because her talent is more important than how much she weighs. She adds, "Constant talk about my weight hasn't made me paranoid. I have no issues about it. I don't care if I'm not skinny - I like a bit of meat on my bones. My weight will never take over my talent."
