GEORGE STRAIT - BROOKS + DUNN ADD TWO MORE NOMINATIONS TO ACM HAUL



LATEST: Country duo BROOKS + DUNN have climbed over GEORGE STRAIT as the big draw at the upcoming Academy Of Country Music Awards in May (07) after landing another two honours. It was announced yesterday (05MAR07) that Strait led the nominations with eight, but now Brooks + Dunn have the chance to take home nine prizes between them. As well as the categories announced early yesterday, the duo will also collect the ACM Humanitarian Award and band member RONNIE DUNN is up for a Vocal Event prize for his ASHLEY MONROE duet I DON'T WANT TO. As Humanitarian Award winners, Brooks + Dunn will be able to donate a playground to the community of their choice. The duo is being honoured for their charity work, which includes stepping up for Hurricane Katrina relief and Habitat for Humanity, among others.
