British rockers SCOUTING FOR GIRLS have been forced to cancel several dates on their U.K. tour due to ill health. Lead vocalist Roy Stride was struck down with throat infection laryngitis - prompting the band to disappoint fans by cancelling four dates in England. The cancelled gigs include a one-off show in Reading on 1 April (08), followed by a three-night residency at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London from 2-4 April (08). In a statement, a disappointed Stride says, "I cannot physically speak. My mouth moves but nothing comes out. It is the weirdest, scariest feeling in the world, and has never happened to me before. "I want to apologise to everyone for the short notice of the gig cancellation. If there was anything I could have done, I would have done it." The group are set to kick off their U.K. tour again in Bristol on 6 April (08), while the cancelled shows are expected to be rescheduled later in the year (08).
