U2 - BONO OFFERS RADIOHEAD HIGH PRAISE IN LETTER
* THE EDGE DONATES MUSIC TRINKETS TO AUCTION
U2 guitarist THE EDGE is donating music memorabilia from his personal collection to charity, in a bid to raise cash to replace musical equipment destroyed in 2005's....
U2 rocker BONO has dubbed RADIOHEAD "a sacred talent" in a heartfelt letter to U.K. music magazine NME.
The Irish star is also complimentary of the English band's 2007 pay-what-you-want experiment for downloads of their last album In Rainbows.
In his letter, Bono calls the sales technique "courageous and imaginative", adding it helped the High + Dry hitmakers "figure out some new relationship with their audience."
His comments are directly opposed to those offered by U2 manager Paul MCGuinness, who publicly criticised Radiohead for their actions, claiming the experiment "backfired."
Bono continues, "We feel blessed to be around at the same time (as Radiohead)."
