BONO NAMED MOST INFLUENTIAL
Campaigning rocker BONO has been named the most influential pop star of the past 25 years in a survey by Britain's MTV channel. The U2 frontman, well known for his campaigns for fair trade and debt relief in the developing world, came top of a poll to mark the music channel's 25 years of broadcasting. Pop legends MICHAEL JACKSON and MADONNA were close behind at numbers two and three respectively.

and i wholeheartedly agree on this. as a fan i'm so proud of him. to care so
much for the burning continent and to spend so much time here in america
lobbying on their behalf, he's an example to many. there is no single group or
platform that this man will not embrace to extract the good out of for the
people of africa. amazing.
i am surprised to see Bob Geldof is not on the list here. but in his strong
quiet way he is a major influence behind the scenes.
thanx for posting this. i was proud to vote. . . . .and yes, my man won!
stay close,
sammi
I guess the world is lucky Bono didn't come in second, or even third...
