MARY J. BLIGE has become the first celebrity to comment on tour mate JAY-Z's top secret wedding on Friday night (04Apr08), publicly congratulating the rapper and his bride, BEYONCE KNOWLES.
The R+B star took the stage for a Heart of The City tour stop in North Carolina on Saturday night (05Apr08), and simply couldn't contain her excitement.
She said, "Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl B," before starting her set with You're All I Need.
Jay-Z made no mention of his new marital status during his set.
Although the couple's representatives have yet to confirm the wedding took place, it has been reported Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, and Knowles exchanged vows on Friday evening and then threw a lavish party at the rapper's TriBeCa apartment in New York.
Guests included Beyonce's parents and sister Solange, Jay-Z's mother and pals Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow. Knowles' former Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams,
also attended the celebration.
