CATE BLANCHETT - BLANCHETT USED HUMOUR TO LAND HUSBAND

New York Film Festival 2007 - Screening of 'I'm Not There' at the Frederick P. Rose Hall in Time Warner Centre - Arrivals
New York City, USA ....
CATE BLANCHETT instantly knew husband-to-be ANDREW UPTON was the man for her when he laughed at a dirty joke she told him.
The humorous story thawed icy relations between the pair because they initially took a dislike to each other.
And Blanchett is still grateful to co-star GEOFFREY RUSH for telling her the joke which helped her find love.
The AVIATOR actress says, "We didn't like each other at first. He thought I was aloof, I thought that he was arrogant. One day I told him a joke that Geoffrey Rush had told me and he just laughed his head off.
"Once he kissed me, that was it! It just shows you how wrong you can be. I was - and still am - swept away."
