CATE BLANCHETT had no choice but to accept her role in the upcoming INDIANA JONES movie - because she couldn't turn down legendary director STEVEN SPIELBERG.
The Australian actress was ecstatic when the Jaws filmmaker approached her to play the villainous Irina Spalko in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull - because she had loved the popular franchise as a child.
And the star couldn't wait to start work on the adventurer's latest outing - stating she had longed to feature in a Spielberg action movie.
She says, "I've always wanted to do something with lots of action in it. So when Steven Spielberg says, 'Be a part of Indiana Jones', I could hardly say no. I grew up with these films; they're part of cinematic landscape."
