BEYONCE KNOWLES - BEYONCE STILL IRREPLACEABLE AT THE TOP OF THE US CHARTS

BEYONCE has scored a fifth week at the top of the US singles chart with her aptly-titled IRREPLACEABLE. The former DESTINY'S CHILD star hit the top spot at the beginning of last month (DEC06) and has been there ever since, fighting off Christmas and New Year challenges from FERGIE and AKON. Fergie's FERGALICIOUS moves up a spot to number two on the new chart, but topples Beyonce's girl-power anthem on Billboard's Pop 100 after setting a new record by selling 295,000 digital copies. The track beat SHAKIRA's 265,000 sales record set in June (06). Akon's SMACK THAT also climbs up a spot to number three, while the Senegalese star's collaboration with SNOOP DOGG, I WANNA LOVE YOU, falls from two to four. JASON MICHAEL CARROLL scores the week's highest debut, entering the chart at number 86 with ALYSSA LIES.
