BERNIE MAC - BERNIE MAC HOSPITALISED WITH PNEUMONIA

Comedy actor BERNIE MAC is being treated for pneumonia in a Chicago, Illinois hospital.
A representative for the 50-year-old Ocean's Eleven star insists he is already beating the deadly illness, and confirms it isn't linked to tissue inflammation disease sarcoidosis, which MAC has suffered for the past 20 years.
Danica Smith tells the Chicago Sun-Times, "Mr. MAC is responding well to treatment. He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well. He's doing great and hopes to get out soon. He's Bernie - he's one of the best guys you'll meet."
Smith did not know when MAC was admitted to hospital, but confirmed his wife Rhonda MCCullough has been at his bedside. The couple has been married for 31 years and has a 30 year old daughter and one granddaughter.
