SEAN BEAN - BEAN KEEPS VIOLENCE BEHIND THE CAMERA

British actor SEAN BEAN insists he is nothing like his tough guy screen persona in real life. The 47-year-old star, whose violent bad guy roles include a terrorist in PATRIOT GAMES, prefers to stay away from threatening situations as much as possible, but would not hesitate to defend himself if the need arose. He says, "I go out of my way not to put myself in that sort of situation. I play tough parts but I don't want to live them. "At the same time, if someone comes up and gives you a swipe on the back of the head you're going to do something. "We've all been in situations where we've thought, 'Things can't go on like this. Are you just going to stand there and get battered, or are you going to stand up for yourself?'"
