Actor SEAN BEAN has called on the British government to start supporting the country's film industry, because its current approach is scaring local talent away. The Outlaw star, 48, admits he makes most of his movies abroad, because it's not easy for filmmakers to get appropriate financial backing - a problem he claims is partly down to a tax ruling Prime Minister Gordon Brown imposed when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2005. Bean says, "I don't really make a great deal of films in the U.K. I think it's been the case for a few years now that things like tax breaks have been taken away and it has made it more difficult to get British films off the ground. "There are films being made but it's so difficult to get those films distributed, publicised and promoted that it often puts investors off putting their money into British films... "There are so many stories out there and so much talent in the U.K. that's not being tapped into."
