THE DARKNESS - BASSIST TAKES OVER AS DARKNESS FRONTMAN
THE DARKNESS have reportedly named bassist RICHIE EDWARDS as the group's new frontman, following the surprise departure of JUSTIN HAWKINS in October (06).
Hawkins quit the group after successfully overcoming his drink and drug problems in rehab, and prompted speculation the band had been dropped by their label Atlantic records.
But British newspaper the Daily Star reports the remaining bandmembers are still signed to Atlantic and have recruited TOBY MCFARLAND to take over bass duties.
Edwards joined the band after original bassist FRANKIE POULLAIN was sacked in 2005.

well no-one will ever be as good as old justin but hey richie is a great singer
and there's no better choice in my opion. good luck to him and the darkness,
i'm sure they will be fine and as good as ever.
