BASSETT JOINS ER

Actress ANGELA BASSETT has signed up to join the cast of hit U.S. medical drama ER.
The What's Love Got To Do With It actress will star in the Emmy award-winning drama's 15th and final season - the first time the Oscar-nominated star has committed to a full-time TV part.
Bassett will play a troubled physician who goes back to Chicago, Illinois after years in Indonesia helping the country's medics deal with the aftermath of 2004's tsunami.
In addition, original cast member Noah Wyle will return to his role as Dr John Carter for four episodes. Wyle left the long-running drama in 2005 at the end of season 11.
