BATMAN - BALE ARRESTED OVER FAMILY ASSAULT CLAIM

LATEST: BATMAN star CHRISTIAN BALE has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his mother and sister.
Bale is alleged to have attacked his mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday night (20Jul08). The pair filed their allegation at a police station in Hampshire, England on Monday (21Jul08).
He attended Belgravia police station in central London on Tuesday (22Jul08) and was arrested.
A Scotland Yard spokesman says: "A 34-year-old man attended a London police station on Tuesday by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody."
The arrest comes just hours after Bale attended the European premiere of his new Batman movie The Dark Knight in London's Leicester Square on Monday, alongside stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Sir Michael Caine.
