ALEC BALDWIN - BALDWIN PLANS TO TAKE 2008 OFF

ALEC BALDWIN is taking a break from Hollywood in 2008, after a busy and controversy-filled 2007 left him tired out. Baldwin's 2007 was dominated by a well-documented battle with Ireland, his 12-year-old daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger. The actor left an angry voicemail message on Ireland's cellphone, calling her a "thoughtless little pig" after she missed a scheduled chat with him. The message made its way onto the internet and dominated newspaper headlines for weeks. And Baldwin admits the episode, coupled with a stressful year, has completely drained him of his energy. He tells Gotham magazine, "I'm going to walk through the park, go to the movies, and rest. "It's been a tough 2007. With the strike and all that crap with my daughter, it's taken a lot out of me. Now it's time to do things that make me feel good. I want to have a pleasant, simple, easy, and enjoyable year."
