ALEC BALDWIN - BALDWIN GOT TOUGH TO WIN ACCIDENT CLAIM

ALEC BALDWIN used his tough guy image to full effect to intimidate a young motorist who accepted the blame for a crash and then backed out of the deal after taking advice from his lawyer dad. The Pearl Harbor star was looking for a parking space on a Los Angeles street when a careless motorist drove into him. He recalls, "This kid that's parked across the street, without signalling and (with) no lights, he pulls out and he sideswipes my car. "I get out of my car, he knows it's me, he's very apologetic, we exchange information, he says, 'It's all my fault.' There's a woman there with a baby, she's my witness, we're done. "Two days later the phone rings, it's his father and his father is in New York, and his father says, 'I'm an attorney in New York and I want you to know we are not admitting that it was his fault and my son wants to reserve all of his rights and the deal's off...'" Angry Baldwin then decided to track down the other motorist: "I had the kid's home number in L.A. so I called him on the phone. I said, 'I know where you live... and I'm gonna come toy your house and I'm gonna break every bone in your body if you back off on this deal.' "The next thing you know they sent me a cheque and they paid for my car."
