BAIO OPENS UP ABOUT BABY DAUGHTER'S MEDICAL BATTLE

TV star SCOTT BAIO has revealed the truth about his baby daughter's health scare, which almost cost her life.
The former Happy Days star became a first-time dad at 46 last November (07) when then-fiancee Renee Sloan gave birth to little Bailey DeLuca.
And now the actor has opened up about the medical battle his baby faced in her first few weeks of life.
Just one day after the baby came home from the hospital, Baio and his partner were told their daughter had tested positive for a potentially fatal metabolic disorder.
Candidly posting on CelebrityBabyBlog.com, Baio reveals, "It was the worst time in my life.
"Every breath that you take, every thought that you have, every moment that you're conscious, it's all you're thinking about. The disease is a constant in your brain. It never leaves you."
Baio and Sloan kept their daughter's medical problems to themselves, even when they wed in December (07).
Little Bailey underwent 10 weeks of testing until doctors told the couple that the initial result was a false positive.
Baio writes, "We jumped through the ceiling... In a way I'm glad I went through it because this sort of thing puts everything else in perspective."
