BAFTA - BAFTA PARTY AXED OVER BURBERRY DEMO FEAR

BAFTA nominees DANIEL CRAIG and DAME HELEN MIRREN will be missing out on a pre-ceremony party because the British Academy of Film and Television Art bash has lost its main sponsor. Fashion giant Burberry dropped out of next week's (10FEB07) lavish affair amid fears protesters would use the occasion to demonstrate against the closure of one of its UK factories. The British clothes house plans to move some production to China, causing the loss of 300 jobs in south Wales. In the absence of Burberry's funding, BAFTA was forced to cancel the celebration for nominees, due to be held at the National History Museum, London.
