Canadian pop star AVRIL LAVIGNE has married fellow musician DERYCK WHIBLEY on a private estate in California, according to US media reports. People magazine claims the couple, who had been engaged for about a year, wed yesterday (15JUL06) in an outdoor, nondenominational ceremony in the coastal city of Montecito. About 110 guests watched the 21-year-old SK8ER BOI singer wed Whibley, 26, the lead singer of Canadian rock band SUM 41. She was reportedly walked down the aisle by her father JOHN as a band played MENDELSSOHN's WEDDING MARCH. Wearing a VERA WANG gown and clutching a bouquet of white roses, Lavigne and her new husband were later showered with rose petals after exchanging vows. The tented reception was preceded by an outdoor cocktail hour.
