BAFTA - ATONEMENT LEADS BAFTA NOMS

Period drama Atonement is the clear favourite to sweep this year's Orange Bafta film awards with 14 nominations.
The adaptation of Ian McEwan's bestselling novel is named in the best film category while director Joe Wright and lead actors Keira Knightley and James McAvoy are nominated in their respective categories.
The moving epic also received nominations for Christopher Hampton's adapted screenplay, Dario Marianelli's score and for rising star Saoirse Ronan in the best supporting actress category.
Paul Thomas Anderson's oil boom saga There Will Be Blood received nine nominations with Daniel Day-Lewis expected to follow his Golden Globe award with a best actor prize at the Baftas' February 10th ceremony.
The Coen brothers' No Country For Old Men also received nine nods including best supporting actor nominations for Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem.
Esteemed film critic Mark Kermode told the BBC the success of Atonement was unsurprising but stressed the difficulties of adapting McEwan's sweeping novel.
"I think what Atonement demonstrates is just what a difficult book it is to adapt," he said.
"I think it's a very brave adaptation of that book and I love the book so much that it's very hard for the film to live up to that for me."
