EMMY AWARDS - ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT FILM MOOTED

A cinematic version of cancelled TV show Arrested Developed could be on the way, it has been confirmed.
Despite winning six Emmy awards, a Golden Globe for leading man Jason Bateman, a spot in Time magazine's 100 Greatest Shows of All Time list and continual critical acclaim, the comedy ended in February 2006 after poor ratings.
But according to Juno star Jason Bateman, a movie version of the series is being discussed, with show creator Mitch Hurwitz and producer Ron Howard in taking the exploits of the Bluth family to the big screen.
Bateman told E! Online: "I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started. Any talk is targeting a post-strike situation, of course.
"I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation.
"And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed," he added.
Hellboy actor Jeffrey Tambor, who played patriarch George Bluth in the show, recently added to the speculation in a radio interview, by revealing Howard had approached him regarding an Arrested Development movie.
While the project does not yet have a script, it is believed Hurwitz has a plot outline for the movie.
Arrested Development stars Bateman and Michael Cera, who played a father and son in the award-winning series, can be seen on UK screens in Juno, which opens on Friday February 8th.
