FARRAH FAWCETT - ANGEL FAWCETT BEATS CANCER

Former Charlie's Angels star Farrah Fawcett has celebrated her 60th birthday by announcing she is completely cancer free.

The American actress revealed last year that she was suffering from an undisclosed type of cancer, but doctors say she has an "excellent prognosis" after "tremendously aggressive treatment".

Fawcett, who starred in one series of Charlie's Angels in the 1970s before making regular guest appearances, has since gone on to receive several Emmy nominations for other TV shows.

She said in a statement carried on her website that today was "an extraordinarily happy day for me and my family".

"I hope that my news might offer some level of inspiration to others who unfortunately must continue to fight the disease," she added.
