ANDERSON SELLS OFF X-FILES MEMORABILIA FOR CHARITY
X-FILES star GILLIAN ANDERSON is selling off her vast collection of memorabilia from the cult sci-fi show to raise cash for her favourite charities.
More than 500 rare and signed items will be auctioned off by website eBay.com's Giving Works charity division from 17 July (08), as fans of the hit TV show franchise get ready for the new X-Files film, I Want To Believe.
And Anderson admits there are one or two keepsakes she's already having second thoughts about selling.
She says, "There's an FBI file that I'm a bit hesitant to auction because it may be one of only two in existence - but I'm doing it anyway.
"And almost all the behind the scene photographs bring back extremely vivid memories.
"They're actually quite intimate... compared to all the posed photos out there."
Auction Cause boss Eric Gazin, who will manage the charity sale, adds, "A lot of the items have been in storage for years.
"I guess Gillian has accumulated a lot of stuff and she feels it's time to give back to the fans and raise some charity funds in the process.
"For us, the highlights include a cross necklace (Anderson's character) Agent Scully wore on the TV show and a real X-Files case file. It's an amazing collection."
The charities that will benefit from the haul Anderson's collection is expected to fetch include Artists for a New South Africa and BuskAid.
Meanwhile, as fans await the opening of the auction, they can currently bid on the chance to attend the upcoming X-Files premiere and meet Anderson as part of another eBay/Auction Cause bidding war.
Bids for that item have reached $1,000 (GBP500). Bidding closes on 17 July (08).

brovi says: P.S. ...we here in Los Angeles would not give a cent for any of the bad
vibe stuff from the set of the T.V. Corp. Nazi X-Files>no way! Too much is known
about what actually went on then and there, i.e., they made Anderson work almost
up to the day of the birth of her first child (working up to 17 hours daily, 6 days
a week) to include ordering her onto a hard, cold, concrete floor wrestling around
with alien dummies in her ninth month.) Wack Nazis! We wonder if they torture small
animals as well. Yes, we might purchase stuff for the charity ...but then burn it, however.
This is not to say that the stuff she is freeing herself from doesn't have an implied
value via the character she rendered so well. Yet, the reality of what this actor
experienced by the hands of true human monsters within that X-File T,V. set is so far beyond
most people's imagination, ...no, not even Gillian Anderson can breath life and hope
back into the tainted corp. Hollywood objects which she gave life to in that T.V.
series. Burn it! best, brovi
brovi says:
with old nazi hollywood on the outs and with anderson's sacrifice to do "duchovny
and the nazi boys" last flop with her presence, it's a clear message to the world
regarding her dumping x-files horror memories ...however, my dear, duck and cover
because it's not over just yet. beware!!! they are coming back for a take down blow
when least expected!!! best, brovi (in LA, CA.)
